On November 15, 1966, two young couples reported encountering a frightening creature near the town of Point Pleasant West Virginia.  This is known as the first official sighting of the cryptid known as Mothman.

Many theories of what Mothman could be, and where he came from exist, but one thing is very certain, ever since the first sightings, Mothman has become ingrained with Point Pleasant's culture. While there are many stories and theories of Mothman in a negative role, he is also viewed in a positive light, and now has fans from all over the world!
